Appel Dumont Response

Welcome to an exciting new independent living facility: your own home. Freedom made possible by the Linear emergency system.

What are the benefits of a personal security system?
Most seniors and persons with medical conditions or physical challenges would, if given the choice, prefer to live in their own homes and be as independent as possible. Although that isn’t always possible, this dream can become reality for many people who decide to install this easy-to-use communication device.

How does the system work?
The Linear system connects to your home telephone line and automatically places a call for help whenever you need assistance, day or night. Family members, neighbours or appropriate medical personnel, who have already been designated by you, are immediately alerted so they can respond. The heart of the system is the console itself, designed for tabletop use and an ideal size for a bedside table. During power outages, continuous protection is provided by a long lasting back-up battery.

The system is equipped with a personal wireless transmitter that you wear at all times. You can even wear it in the shower because the transmitter is water-tight. A visual indicator (red) or an acoustic indicator (beep) tells you that the signal has been transmitted to the console.

You just need to push a button to get some help!
Activating the system couldn’t be simpler or more reliable because you always have a wireless transmitter with you at all times. In the event of an at-home emergency or in any emergency, you just press the alarm button (which functions like a TV remote control) to signal the console to automatically call the Monitoring Centre which is staffed by trained bilingual professionals 24 hours a day. Once your call is received, an operator notifies the persons that you previously designated (family members, friends or qualified rescue personnel). They can then respond to your specific situation.
